The Saudi-led coalition has reportedly intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched from Yemen towards southern civilian areas of the country on Sunday morning, August 16. The Saudi Press Agency did not confirm which locations the missile strike targeted. Authorities also claimed to have intercepted two other ballistic missiles and an armed drone targeting southern Saudi Arabia on Thursday, August 13.

Further cross-border attacks are possible over the near term.
