The evacuation orders are in place for areas along Lake Hughes Road, west of Pine Canyon Road, and south of Dry Gulch Road. Pine Canyon Road is reportedly closed at Highway 138, while Lake Hughes Road is also shut off. An evacuation center has been set up at Highland High School in Palmdale. The 10,000 acre fire is expected to grow amid ongoing dry and windy weather conditions.

Further spread of the fire is possible in the near term. An emergency response presence and localized transportation disruptions, namely road closures, should be anticipated in the affected areas.
