The shooting took place in the vicinity of El Paraíso and Montalbán districts of Caracas on Cota 905, also known as Avenida Guzmán Blanco. Local social media sources report that the situation was ongoing as of 15:30 (local time), with FAES units being ordered to withdraw from the area. The perpetrators of the attack are yet to be identified.
