North Macedonia: Opposition demonstration planned in Skopje September 15

The opposition Internal Macedonian Revolutionary Organization - Democratic Party for Macedonian National Unity (VMRO-DPMNE) has called for a demonstration in Skopje on Tuesday, September 15, in opposition to the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia (SDSM)-led coalition government's policies. Protesters intend to gather outside of the Ministry of Justice from 18:30 (local time) before marching to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to highlight their opposition to the government's negotiations with Bulgaria. The event is part of a series of mass anti-government demonstrations organized by the VMRO-DPMNE against the policies of the coalition government.

Associated business and transportation disruptions are to be anticipated near the demonstration site, as well as a heightened security presence.
