Turkey: Police carry out arrests during counter-terrorism operations in Ankara September 17

Police have arrested at least 16 people suspected of having links to the Islamic State (IS) militant group during counter-terrorism operations in Ankara on Thursday, September 17. Security forces stated that those detained are Iraqi nationals and that three others are still being sought by police.

Further counter-terrorism operations in Ankara are possible over the near term.
