Chile: Health workers to demonstrate nationwide on October 6

The National Confederation of Health Workers (CONFENATS) has called on members to demonstrate in urban centers nationwide on Tuesday, October 6, to protest the government's handling of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, and to call for better funding and equipment. Participants will reportedly start gathering in the centers of major cities from 08:00 (local time) before marching to government offices.

A heightened security presence and localized disruptions are possible in the vicinity of all demonstrations, and clashes between protesters and security forces cannot be ruled out.
