North Macedonia: Anti-government demonstration to be held in Skopje October 9

The Internal Macedonian Revolutionary Organization - Democratic Party for Macedonian National Unity (VMRO-DPMNE) opposition party are planning to hold a demonstration in Skopje on Friday, October 9, to denounce alleged political violence and infringements of judicial impartiality. Reports indicate that protesters will march at 18:30 (local time) from the Ministry of Justice to the Ministry of Information Society and Administration. While the rally is expected to pass off peacefully, it may be well attended. The event is part of a series of mass anti-government demonstrations organized by the VMRO-DPMNE against the policies of the coalition government.

A heightened security presence and localized travel disruptions should be anticipated in the vicinity of the rally.
