Cyprus: Taxi drivers plan island wide strike November 3

The Association of Taxi Owners and Drivers announced that Cypriot taxi drivers planned an island wide strike on Tuesday, November 3, starting from 06:45 (local time). The union stated that the protest action will take place in order to demand that the government creates measures to help the industry to recover following the impact of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

No associated protests have been announced; however, a heightened security presence and localized disruptions to transport are possible if demonstrations take place. Increased demand for other forms of transport is possible due to the strike.
