Farmers to protest in Aarhus and Copenhagen on November 21; avoid protests as a precaution
Event
Farmers are scheduled to protest in Aarhus and Copenhagen on Saturday, November 21, due to the government's perceived mishandling of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. Participants in Aarhus will drive with their tractors into the city from 10:00 (local time) and drive to Sydhavnsgade, near Aarhus Port, and the Molslinjen old ferry terminal before marching to Musikhusparken, where a demonstration is scheduled between 12:00 and 14:00. Similarly, farmers protesting in Copenhagen will enter the city from 10:00 and park near Langelinie for a protest between 12:00 and 14:00. Fishers will also join and dock their boats at the pier for a joint demonstration.
The demonstrations are expected to remain largely peaceful. A heightened security presence and localized disruptions are possible in the vicinity of all demonstrations.
Advice
Individuals in Aarhus and Copenhagen are advised to monitor developments to the situation, avoid all protests and demonstrations as a precaution, and adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities.
