Supporters of US President Donald J. Trump plan to hold demonstrations in the Chiyoda area of Tokyo Dec. 23 and 24. Protesters intend to gather outside of Hibiya Park around 1745 Dec. 23 and march to the Konyabashi Playground 1800-1830. Organizers also plan to hold a rally at the Prime Minister's Office building 1730-1930 Dec. 24. Participation in the events is unclear, but up to a few hundred people could join the demonstrations.

Security personnel will likely monitor the protest. Authorities may close roads in the area in the event of a larger turnout; localized transport disruptions could occur. The protests will likely proceed peacefully.
