Teachers affiliated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) plan to demonstrate outside the UNRWA office in Beirut Dec. 18 over the organization's decision to suspend the learning support program. The UNRWA had announced that it would stop the program in January 2021 due to the lack of funding. Hundreds of individuals could attend the demonstration.

Increased security measures, as well as localized transport disruptions, are likely near the protest site. Clashes between security personnel and protesters may materialize if demonstrators refuse orders to disperse or are overly disruptive.
