Lebanon: Anti-government protest underway near Palais de Justice in Beirut Dec. 10

Activists have initiated a sit-in protest outside the Palais de Justice in Beirut the morning of Dec. 10. Demonstrators are demanding the continuation of proceedings against military personnel involved in corruption and that action be taken against security personnel who clashed with demonstrators in August. The exact number of participants in the protest is unclear.

Security forces will almost certainly deploy to monitor the protest. Clashes between security forces and protesters may occur if participants ignore police orders or are overly disruptive. Ground travel delays near the protest site are possible.
