Event

Authorities in Tajikistan are maintaining measures imposed to combat the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) as of Jan. 29. All international travelers are required to produce evidence of a negative COVID-19 test taken within the previous 72 hours on arrival. Individuals who do not meet this requirement may be placed in a state-run quarantine facility for up to 14 days, or until a negative COVID-19 test result is returned. Limited passenger flights are operating including with Uzbekistan, UAE, Germany, Turkey, and Russia. Land borders with Afghanistan, China, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan are currently closed, though some border crossings with Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan are open for freight vehicles.

Domestically, nonessential businesses, including shopping centers, markets, and restaurants, are operating subject to social-distancing mandates. Mosques are permitted to reopen as of Feb. 1. Some hotels are closed due to low demand. Facemasks are mandatory in public places, including in vehicles and on public transport.

All restrictions are subject to amendment at short notice in response to government reviews.
