Unidentified gunmen killed at least nine people and wounded nine others during a roadside ambush on a convoy of vehicles in Oudalan Province during the morning of Feb. 18. The attack reportedly occurred between Markoye and Tokabangou. The victims were merchants and were traveling to a market in Doubel, a village located about 25 km (16 miles) across the border in Niger, at the time of the incident.
