Denmark: Anti-lockdown activists to march in Copenhagen April 10

Activists to protest COVID-19 restrictions in central Copenhagen, Denmark, from 19:00 April 10; disruptions likely, clashes possible.

Warning

Event

The Men in Black activist group plans to demonstrate in central Copenhagen April 10 to denounce ongoing COVID-19 restrictions. Participants will gather at 19:00 at Enghave Plads before marching to Copenhagen City Hall for a final rally. Up to 1,000 people could participate.

Police will almost certainly deploy to monitor the protest; associated security measures could prompt localized disruptions. Low-level violence is possible; related demonstrations have previously devolved into clashes with police. While bystanders are unlikely to be targeted, any violence would pose an incidental risk.

Advice

Avoid the demonstration as a routine security precaution and to mitigate associated disruptions. Heed instructions from security services and leave the area at the first sign of a confrontation. Allow extra time to reach destinations in central Copenhagen during the evening of April 10.
