Officials continue to respond to a chemical leak at a Hyosung Advanced Materials factory in the Maeam area of Ulsan April 16. The sulfuric acid leak reportedly occurred at around 06:40, and authorities say about 3,000 liters (800 gallons) of the hazardous material spilled from a tank at the site. There were no immediate reports of casualties from the incident.

Advice

Avoid the area until authorities give the all-clear. Use alternative routes to circumvent the factory and nearby roads. If avoidance of the area is not possible, protect the airway by covering both mouth and nose, as well as shielding the eyes. Cover all exposed skin to prevent chemical particles and droplets from settling and causing irritation.
