An increased police presence is likely in the Etobicoke neighborhood of Toronto following a shooting incident that killed one person and left four people seriously injured at approximately 14:30 May 16. The incident took place at the intersection of Willowridge Road and Eglinton Avenue West. Eyewitnesses report that a man got out of a vehicle and began opening fire.

Police have been canvassing the neighborhood looking for additional victims. The two suspects fled the scene in a black car and no descriptions of the assailants have been released. The Toronto Police Department has announced the shooting is being investigated as a homicide. Localized traffic and transport disruptions, including possible street closures, are likely as law enforcement officials continue their investigation.
