Officials in New Zealand have extended their suspension of quarantine-free travel from Victoria, Australia, through at least 19:59 June 4 following the discovery of community COVID-19 activity in Melbourne and other areas. Individuals who have been within Victoria State from 19:59 May 25 cannot enter New Zealand. Additionally, people who visited designated locations of interest in Victoria at specific times cannot travel to New Zealand for two weeks from the date of exposure. Officials have canceled most flights between New Zealand and Melbourne (MEL), but some flights from Auckland (AKL) to Victoria may continue. Further extensions of the controls are possible.

Advice

Consider deferring travel plans and check with travel providers for rebooking options if scheduled to arrive in New Zealand through at least June 4. Follow all official instructions.
