North Macedonia: Authorities to lift COVID-19-related quarantine requirements for travelers from Africa and Brazil from May 26 /update 33
North Macedonia to lift COVID-19 quarantine requirements for some travelers May 26; domestic curbs remain largely unchanged since mid-May.
Event
Authorities in North Macedonia plan to lift the nation's quarantine requirements for travelers from all African countries and Brazil starting May 26. Travelers from India are still required to self-isolate for 14 days upon arrival.
North Macedonia's land borders are open. International flights are operating; individuals arriving via air may be subject to health screening on arrival and may have to undergo quarantine measures if displaying COVID-19 symptoms.
Domestic Restrictions
As of May 25, authorities have largely kept domestic COVID-19 restrictions unchanged since the middle of the month. A daily curfew is in place 00:01-05:00. Individuals must remain at home during curfew hours unless they are performing essential work duties, traveling to or from airports, or attending to urgent medical needs. Most businesses and facilities are permitted to operate, provided they implement certain hygienic and social distancing measures. Facemasks must be worn in indoor and outdoor public spaces, as well as in areas where social distancing of 2 meters (6.5 feet) is not possible.
Authorities could extend, ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice, depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
