North Macedonia to tighten COVID-19 entry restrictions for certain travelers, ease curfew hours effective May 5.

Warning

Event

Authorities in North Macedonia plan to tighten the international entry restrictions for certain travelers and ease the nationwide curfew hours as part of their ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Starting May 5, all travelers arriving from Brazil and India must self-isolate for 14 days upon arrival. Travelers from any African country must also self-isolate for 14 days. North Macedonia's land borders remain open. International flights are operating; individuals arriving via air may be subject to health screening on arrival and may have to undergo quarantine if displaying COVID-19 symptoms.

Domestic Restrictions
Domestically, effective May 5, the country's curfew will start two hours later, with new curfew hours running 23:00-05:00. Individuals must remain at home during curfew hours unless they are performing essential work duties, traveling to or from airports, or attending to urgent medical needs.

Both indoor and outdoor public gatherings remain limited to four people. All gyms and sporting centers remain closed. Most other businesses and facilities are permitted to operate, provided they implement certain hygienic and social distancing measures. Facemasks must be worn in indoor and outdoor public spaces, as well as in areas where social distancing of 2 meters (6.5 feet) is not possible.

Authorities could extend, ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice, depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
