Montenegro: Authorities easing nationwide COVID-19-related measures from June 19 /update 40

Event

Authorities in Montenegro will ease some of the nation's COVID-19-related domestic restrictions from June 19. Officials will allow restaurants, bars, cafes, and similar establishments and retail stores to work regular hours. The cap on public gatherings will be increased from 50 to 100 with sanitary protocols in place. Several other domestic restrictions continue. Individuals must wear protective face coverings in indoor and outdoor public spaces and maintain at least 2 meters (6.5 feet) of physical distancing.

All travelers entering the country must present proof of vaccination or a negative result from a COVID-19 test taken no more than 72 hours prior to arrival; the test can be either a PCR or a rapid antigen test. Montenegrin citizens and residents may enter without such proof, though they must self-isolate for 14 days on arrival. All individuals arriving from European Union countries, Albania, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Norway, Kazakhstan, Russia, Israel, Serbia, and Ukraine, are exempt from this measure and may enter without restrictions. Freight transporters and aircraft cabin crews are also exempt.

Authorities could reimpose, extend, further ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
