Landslides due to heavy rains have blocked sections of the Prithvi Highway (H04) in Tanahun District, Gandaki Province, as of July 1. Affected areas include Chhirkan and Ghansikuwa.
Regional ground transport disruptions are likely as authorities remove debris and conduct repair works on any damaged parts of the highway. Lingering transport disruptions are possible through early July even after traffic resumes along the route. Alternative roadways may experience increased traffic and associated delays. Supply chain disruptions could occur in the event of prolonged closures.
The affected area is around 40 km (25 miles) southeast of Pokhara, Gandaki Province, and about 31 km (19 miles) north-northwest of Bharatpur, Bagmati Province.
