Saint Kitts and Nevis: Authorities impose nightly curfew, tighten restrictions for international travelers due to COVID-19 until at least June 8 /update 27
Authorities in Saint Kitts and Nevis impose a nightly curfew and tighten travel restrictions due to COVID-19 until at least June 8.
Event
Authorities in Saint Kitts and Nevis have imposed a nightly curfew and tightened restrictions for international travelers until June 8 to curb the spread of COVID-19.
Under the current directives, individuals may not leave their homes between 23:00-05:00 except for people addressing medical emergencies and essential workers, including members of the police, emergency services, immigration authorities, and airport and seaport officials, among others. Additionally, until at least June 8, schools must remain closed and occupancy on public and private transport, including buses, ferries, and taxis, must be limited to 50 percent capacity, and all people on board must wear a protective facemask. All persons must wear protective facemasks when in any public place.
International Travel Restrictions
Flights from Brazil, South Africa, and the UK to Saint Kitts and Nevis are suspended. Until at least June 8, individuals from other destinations are required to be fully vaccinated to enter Saint Kitts and Nevis, except for citizens and residents of the islands, as well as individuals under the age of 18 who are accompanying their vaccinated parents or guardians. A person is considered to be fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving their final dose of an approved vaccine (i.e., Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca/Oxford, and Johnson and Johnson/Janssen).
Additionally, arriving travelers must follow these requirements:
Present a negative result from a COVID-19 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test taken at most 72 hours prior to travel.
Complete a health entry form prior to departure; the form must be submitted no later than 24 hours prior to travel.
Submit a copy of a COVID-19 vaccination record.
Download the Saint Kitts and Nevis COVID-19 mobile app (EXMAPP) to a mobile device.
Undergo a health screening at the airport, which includes a temperature check and a health questionnaire. If the traveler presents symptoms of COVID-19, they may be required to take an additional PCR test.
All arriving travelers must "vacation in place" for at least the first eight days upon arrival up to 14 days or the duration of their stay, whichever is shorter; travelers must stay within their approved hotel and, while they may use its amenities and move within the property, they must not go outside of it.
Fully vaccinated travelers can take an additional PCR test on day nine after arrival; if the result of the test is negative, they can end the quarantine period and move freely about the islands.
Travelers entering the islands by private vessel must follow the same requirements.
People traveling between Saint Kitts and Nevis are not required to be vaccinated.
Authorities could reimpose, extend, further ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
