Warning

Event

Officials in Maryland have issued orders to lift the COVID-19 state of emergency and all remaining restrictions related to the pandemic, July 1, due to decreasing infections and an increasing share of the population fully vaccinated.

Most statewide restrictions in Maryland had been lifted May 15. However, remaining orders for individuals to wear facemasks in schools, daycare centers, and healthcare facilities will be lifted July 1. Federal orders to wear facemasks in public transportation will remain in place. Businesses may continue to impose restrictions within their establishments if they consider it necessary.

Local Restrictions
Most restrictions at the local levels have also been lifted. However, officials in the city of Baltimore maintain a requirement for individuals to wear facemasks in indoor settings and at mass events. The remaining restrictions in Montgomery and Prince George's counties have been lifted.

Authorities could reimpose, extend, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
