The United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) are investigating possible armed clashes in the Bossangoa sub-prefecture as of July 23. MINUSCA officials stated that a patrol discovered 13 bodies in Bongboto, near the town of Bossangoa, July 21.

Security forces are likely to maintain a heightened security posture in the affected area in the near term; associated localized transport disruptions are likely. Further such attacks remain possible.

Bossangoa is located 260 km (161 miles) northwest of Bangui.
