Japan: Explosion reported at a chemical factory in Amagasaki the morning of July 26

An explosion occurred at a chemical factory in the Minamihatsushima area of Amagasaki, Hyogo Prefecture, at around 09:25 July 26. Officials have not confirmed the cause of the blast; however, reports indicate that it occurred during melting processes for rare earth metals. The explosion injured three employees.
