Northern Cyprus: Authorities maintaining COVID-19-related restrictions as of July 21 /update 33
Authorities maintaining COVID-19-related measures as of July 21; domestic and international entry restrictions remain in effect.
Event
Authorities have amended international entry requirements imposed to limit the spread of COVID-19 as of July 21. Officials categorize countries as Dark Red, Red, Orange, Green, and Grey; a full list of countries by category is available here. Entry requirements by category are as follows:
Dark Red: Travel is prohibited except for residents of Northern Cyprus; permitted travelers must present a negative PCR test taken within the previous 72 hours and be quarantined for 14 days on arrival.
Red: Vaccinated arrivals, or those who have recovered from COVID-19 in the previous six months, must provide evidence of a negative PCR result taken within the previous 72 hours and self-isolate for three days on arrival; vaccinated arrivals from the UK will not be required to undergo self-isolation if the arrive before July 29. All unvaccinated arrivals must present a negative PCR test taken within the previous 72 hours and self-isolate for seven days on arrival.
Orange: Vaccinated arrivals, or those who have recovered from COVID-19 in the previous six months, must provide evidence of a negative PCR result taken within the previous 72 hours Unvaccinated arrivals must also present a negative PCR result, though must self-isolate for five days on arrival.
Green: Vaccinated or recovered arrivals can enter without restriction; unvaccinated arrivals must present a negative PCR test taken within the previous 72 hours.
Grey: All arrivals must present a negative PCR test taken within the previous 72 hours and be quarantined for 14 days on arrival.
Domestic Restrictions
A nightly curfew is in place 00:00-05:00, during which individuals may only leave their homes for essential purposes. Most non-essential business can operate, though must maintain strict hygiene requirements. Proof of full vaccination, recovery, or a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test result taken within the previous 72 hours, is required to enter some establishments, including hotels and indoor areas of restaurants and bars. Facemasks remain mandatory in public spaces at all times. Indoor public gatherings are prohibited; outdoor gatherings can proceed subject to social distancing and capacity requirements.
Restrictions could be introduced or amended at any time, depending on disease activity in the country.
