Informational

Event

The US Embassy in Copenhagen has warned that protesters plan to gather outside the facility on Dag Hammarskjolds Alle Aug. 18 and Aug. 21-22 to express support for victims of ongoing conflicts in the Middle East and Asia. Participants will gather at the following times:

  • Aug. 18 from 17:00: activists will support the Kurdish population in northern Syria.

  • Aug. 21 from 12:00: activists will denounce recent political developments in Syria.

  • Aug. 22 from 16:00: activists will express solidarity for the people of Afghanistan.

Although the events are likely to pass off without incident, the presence of large numbers of people and associated security measures could prompt localized movement disruptions, including access restrictions to the US Embassy.

Advice

Consider avoiding the gatherings as a routine security precaution and to mitigate associated disruptions. Allow additional time for travel on Dag Hammarskjolds Alle and maintain flexible itineraries if visiting the US Embassy on the protest dates.
