Warning

Event

Authorities are responding to the discovery of two unexploded World War II-era bombs in Krefeld Aug. 18; the devices were discovered around Emil-Schafer-Strasse. Authorities will impose a 300 meter (984 foot) evacuation security cordon around the discovery site to facilitate the disposal operation from around 18:30.

No traffic will be permitted within the security cordon for the duration of the disposal operation. Part of the A57 highway motorway nearby will be closed in both directions. Public transport normally routed through the area will be canceled or diverted. Increased traffic congestion is likely in the surrounding area as drivers seek alternative routes.
