Informational

Event

The Terengganu Water Company (SATU) announced that water disruptions are ongoing in parts of Kuala Nerus and Kuala Terengganu as of Aug. 4. The company attributed the disruptions to a burst water pump and will fully restore the water supply likely by Aug. 7. Affected areas in Kuala Nerus include Bukit Berangan, Bukit Jong, Batu Rakit, Gong Badak and Tok Jembal, while the affected areas in Kuala Terengganu consist of Banggol Peradong, Buluh Gading Masjid and Buluh Gading Dewan, amongst others.

Business disruptions are possible during water disruptions or outages, especially for companies that rely on large quantities of municipal water for their operations.

Advice

Stock up on drinking water and confirm alternative water supplies for business operations. Use only bottled water from reputable suppliers for drinking and hygienic purposes. Pressure and water quality may be poor after service resumes; run taps for several minutes before using water. Minimize nonessential water use throughout the outage.
