Pakistan: Officials responding to large explosion in Wah Cantonment, northwest of Islamabad, Aug. 12

Officials are responding to a large explosion at or near an ordnance factory in Wah Cantonment, Punjab Province, late Aug. 12. The cause of the blast is not immediately clear. The explosion caused at least some degree of structural damage in nearby areas. Authorities did not immediately announce any casualties.

Localized transport and business disruptions are likely near the incident site, which is located approximately 22 km (14 miles) west-northwest of central Islamabad.
