Officials have issued a tsunami warning following a magnitude 7.1 earthquake that occurred southeast of Mindanao Island early Aug. 12. The earthquake occurred approximate 146 km (91 miles) southeast of Davao City. Tsunamis are possible in coastal areas within at least 300 km (186 miles) of the earthquake's epicenter.
