Jenin-based activists have called for a strike in Jenin and across the West Bank, Aug. 16 in response to and after Israeli security forces killed four Palestinians in the Jenin refugee camp in Jenin city, West Bank, early Aug. 16. Associated protests are likely in Jenin in the coming days. Several thousand people attended a funeral procession for two of the deceased in Jenin the morning of Aug. 16. Protests and strikes in response to the incident may also occur elsewhere in the West Bank or Palestinian majority communities in the region, including East Jerusalem, in the coming days.

Authorities will likely increase security to monitor any protests that occur. Clashes are possible if demonstrators are overly disruptive or if they ignore police orders to disperse. Disruptions to business operations may occur in areas where strikes are being observed.
