Officials are responding to a shooting in Kristianstad, approximately 100 km (62 miles) east of Helsinborg, the afternoon of Aug. 3. Media reports suggest at least one individual shot and injured at least three people in an attack in the Nasby area of the city. The motive for the attack is not clear. A police search is underway throughout the Kristianstad area to apprehend the attacker. The central hospital in Kristianstad is reportedly locked down and under guard.

A significantly increased security presence and related disruptions, including possible movement restrictions, are likely throughout Kristianstad while the police operation continues.
