The Danish government has lifted the last of the nation's domestic COVID-19 restrictions effective Sept. 1. All businesses that have remained under closure orders, including nightclubs and discos, have been allowed to reopen; however, patrons must possess COVID passports (Coronapas) in order to enter such establishments, as well as attend large events, through Sept. 10 at which point the passes will no longer be required. COVID-19 passports are no longer required to enter restaurants; businesses are no longer subject to limitations on operating hours.

International Entry Restrictions
International entry restrictions remain in place as of Sept. 1. All countries are classified as either green, yellow, or orange in increasing order of COVID-19 transmission risk. Different travel restrictions apply depending on the color designation of the country of origin or country of residence; for a full list of countries and their risk designations, click here.

Fully vaccinated travelers from green and yellow countries or who are permanent residents of orange OECD countries can enter Denmark without restrictions. The vaccine certificate must show that the individual completed the full course of vaccination approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) between 14 days and twelve months before entry. Vaccinated travelers who are permanent residents of orange non-OECD countries must have a worthy purpose to enter Denmark, possess a negative PCR test taken in the 72 hours before entry or a negative antigen test taken in the 48 hours before entry, submit to a test on arrival, and self-isolate for 10 days on arrival. Self-isolation can be ended following a negative result of a test taken no less than four days after arrival.

Unvaccinated travelers from green or yellow countries who possess documentation proving that they have recovered from COVID-19 in the previous 12 months may enter without restrictions. Such travelers from orange countries must have a worthy purpose to enter Denmark.

All other unvaccinated travelers must have a negative result from PCR test taken in the 72 hours before entry or an antigen test taken in the 48 hours before entry. No further restrictions apply to unvaccinated travelers from green countries. Unvaccinated travelers from yellow countries must also take a test within 24 hours of arrival. Unvaccinated travelers from orange countries must have a worthy purpose for entering, take a test within 24 hours of arrival, and self-isolate for 10 days on arrival. Self-isolation can be ended following a negative result of a test taken no less than four days after arrival.

All individuals arriving via air must also submit to a COVID-19 test on arrival.

Authorities could reimpose, extend, further ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
