Bosnia and Herzegovina maintaining COVID-19-related restrictions as of Oct. 27; travel and business disruptions likely.

Warning

Event

Authorities are maintaining COVID-19 restrictions as of Oct. 27. Most of the measures have been in place since at least late July. Domestic controls may vary between the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) and the Republic Srpska (RS).

Domestic Restrictions
Nonessential businesses, including restaurants, bars, and shops, are open unless otherwise indicated and are subject to hygiene and social distancing requirements. Limits are in place for both public and private gatherings. Larger events must adhere to capacity limits, and participants must have proof of COVID-19 vaccination, recovery from the virus, or a negative result from a COVID-19 test taken within the previous 48 hours. The use of facemasks and social distancing are mandatory in indoor and outdoor public spaces.

Travel Restrictions
Foreign nationals can enter the country provided they possess documentation showing they have been fully vaccinated against, recovered from, or tested negative for COVID-19. The test must be taken within 48 hours before arrival if traveling from somewhere in Europe or 72 hours if arriving from outside Europe.

Cabin and freight crews, diplomats, foreign military personnel stationed in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and passengers transiting the country do not need to provide a negative test. Citizens of Croatia, Serbia, and Montenegro and their immediate families can enter without a negative COVID-19 test result, provided they are entering from their country of citizenship.

Authorities may extend or amend restrictions with little to no advance notice, depending on disease activity in the country.
