Context

Despite the signing of the Feb. 5, 2019 peace agreement between 14 armed groups, rebels continue to pose a threat throughout CAR. The Coalition des patriotes pour le changement (CPC) rebel alliance is suspected of being behind landmine attacks in the country's west. The latest use of landmines started when security forces launched an offensive against armed groups operating in the west of the country in January.
