Grenada: Authorities relax curfew, other COVID-19 restrictions as of Oct. 6 /update 36

Authorities in Grenada have relaxed curfew hours and other COVID-19-related business restrictions as of Oct. 6. The nightly curfew has been shortened by one hour and is in effect 19:00-04:00 daily until at least Oct. 19. The no-movement weekends have been lifted. Individuals must remain at home during curfew hours, except for employees in essential services, people with medical emergencies or seeking COVID-19 vaccination or testing, and those with official authorization.

In-person dining at restaurants is now permitted for fully vaccinated individuals. Access to beaches is allowed between 04:00-16:00. Retail stores may reopen, but authorities urge owners to limit capacity to 50 percent. Other businesses, including gyms and fitness centers, personal care businesses, and daycares may also resume operations, but employees must be fully vaccinated. Most businesses must close by 17:00. Authorities permit individuals to do outdoor exercise for up to 90 minutes a day between 04:00-18:00. Facemasks are mandatory in public spaces for all individuals except children below seven years old. Physical distancing protocols are also in effect.

International Travel Restrictions
While different entry requirements are in force for fully vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers arriving in Grenada, the following restrictions continue to apply to all international arrivals:

• All travelers must complete an online application at least 48 hours before departure to receive a Pure Safe Travel Authorization Certificate and present it at the airport when entering Grenada. Proof of payment for a second COVID-19 PCR test taken after arrival is necessary to complete the application.

• Travelers over the age of five must present a negative result from a PCR test taken no more than 72 hours before departure for Grenada.

• All individuals are subject to advanced health screenings upon arrival.

• Nonresidents must have travel medical insurance that covers COVID-19-related illnesses.

Individuals who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at least 14 days before travel can enter Grenada but must quarantine for up to 48 hours. These travelers must still present a negative PCR test result issued within 72 hours before arrival and must take another COVID-19 test at the airport upon arrival. Their quarantine will end once they receive a negative result from the second test. Fully vaccinated travelers must book an approved Pure Safe Travel accommodation for a minimum of two nights.

In most cases, unvaccinated travelers can only enter if they are residents or citizens of Grenada. They must quarantine for 7-14 days and be tested on day five after arrival. If the test result is negative, they may leave quarantine after completing seven days in isolation. Individuals who test positive will have to take further tests and can only end their quarantine period upon receiving health clearance. Unvaccinated travelers must confirm a reservation at an approved Pure Safe Travel accommodation for a minimum of seven nights for observation and quarantine.

After receiving medical clearance, all travelers must self-monitor daily for up to two weeks during their stay in Grenada using the relevant self-monitoring mobile application.

Authorities could tighten, ease, or otherwise amend the existing travel requirements and curfew measures with little-to-no notice, depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
