Water supply disruptions continue in areas of Wakayama, Wakayama Prefecture, as of Oct. 7. Disruptions are ongoing since the Musota water pipe bridge collapsing the afternoon Oct. 3; the bridge supplies water to northern areas of the city. Media sources indicate approximately 60,000 homes in northern areas are experiencing water outages. Authorities indicate restoration of service will progressively occur from early Oct. 9.

Officials have set up water distribution centers. Business disruptions are possible, especially for companies that rely on large quantities of municipal water. Prolonged and recurrent water supply disruptions are possible until officials normalize the water supply.
