Authorities in Liberia are maintaining COVID-19 travel restrictions and domestic measures as of Oct. 8.

International Restrictions
All incoming travelers are required to present a negative PCR test result issued no more than 96 hours before arrival and to download the Liberia Travel application and complete a Health Screening Arrival Form. All non-exempt travelers will be tested on arrival; the cost of the test is USD 50 to 75 depending on the country of departure. Travelers are encouraged to pay the test through the Liberia Travel application prior to arrival. Individuals who test positive may be quarantined or allowed to receive home care; decisions are made on a case-by-case basis. Travelers tested at the port of entry are advised to self-isolate for up to seven days and monitor symptoms via the mobile app for up to 14 days. Exempt travelers (diplomats and their families) will not be tested upon arrival if they can present a negative PCR test result issued less than 96 hours before entry into Liberia, upon arrival.

All non-exempt travelers exiting Liberia must present a negative test result taken within 72 hours of departure. The cost of the test is USD 50 to 75 depending on the country of destination.

All land borders remain closed to passenger traffic, according to the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO); cargo traffic is continuing. Seaports are operating as normal. Heightened screening at all ports of entry is likely.

Domestic Measures
Local measures remain in place nationwide. Under the Ministry of Health guidelines, all persons must abide by public health directives, including wearing facemasks in all public places. Individuals must also follow social distancing of approximately 1 meter (3 feet). Indoor gatherings of more than 20 people and outdoor gatherings of more than 50-percent capacity are not allowed. Restaurants and bars may open until 23:00 under strict health protocols. Restrictions on capacity are in place for public and private institutions, supermarkets, and public transport.
