Morocco: Activists plan nationwide protests Oct. 27

Activists plan to protest nationwide from 16:00 Oct. 27 to oppose the COVID-19 vaccine pass, which is required for individuals to enter public buildings and travel between cities. Hundreds to thousands of individuals could attend the demonstrations. Some of the gathering locations include:

• Agadir: Al Amal Square

• Casablanca: Marechal Square

• Fes: Florence Square

• Marrakesh: Gueliz Plaza

• Meknes: Lahdim Square

• Rabat: Outside Parliament

• Tangier: Nations Square

Increased security and localized transport disruptions are likely near the gathering sites through late Oct. 27. Clashes between protesters and security forces are possible, especially if protesters are overly disruptive or fail to adhere to police instructions.
