Warning

Event

Authorities in Saudi Arabia are maintaining several COVID-19-related travel restrictions as of Oct. 7. Unvaccinated travelers arriving in Saudi Arabia will be subject to quarantine for at least five days. Those considered fully vaccinated by authorities will not undergo quarantine but must provide a health certificate as proof of vaccination. Travelers with tourist visas are allowed entry provided they are fully vaccinated. For further details, click here.

Authorities require all non-Saudis, except for children aged eight and under, to present a negative PCR test administered within no more than 72 hours before departing for the kingdom; travelers who do not provide the requisite negative test result will be barred from boarding their flight. Travelers must complete a health disclaimer form and download and register on the Tatamman and Tawakkalna mobile applications before arrival in Saudi Arabia.

Travel from Indonesia, Pakistan, Brazil, Turkey, Lebanon, Egypt, India, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, and Vietnam remains suspended. Those that do qualify for an exemption to the ban are still subject to quarantine and testing rules. For more information regarding exemptions, click here.

Mandates limiting public gatherings, the use of protective face coverings, and compliance with social distancing guidelines remain in force. From Oct. 10, all persons in Saudi Arabia will have to provide proof of vaccination by a government-approved vaccine to enter all government and private establishments, as well as to use public transportation and air travel. Authorities could introduce new preventive measures or amend existing restrictions depending on disease activity in the coming days and weeks.

Advice

Follow all official instructions. Abide by national health and safety measures. Reconfirm all business appointments and travel arrangements. Consider delaying traveling if experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19, as they may prompt increased scrutiny and delays. Liaise with trusted contacts for further updates and guidance. Ensure contingency plans account for further disruptive measures or extensions of current restrictions.
