Authorities in South Korea have extended Level-4 COVID-19 restrictions in Greater Seoul, including Incheon and Gyeonggi Province, through Oct. 17. Restaurants can operate until 22:00 daily. Gatherings of up to six people can occur before 18:00 if at least two are fully vaccinated; gatherings after 18:00 should have at least four are fully vaccinated individuals. Demonstrations, except for one-person rallies, are still banned. Most businesses in Greater Seoul can operate on-site at reduced capacities, with an exception for manufacturers. Authorities limit booking at hotels to two-thirds of capacity, and accommodations cannot host events for guests. Entertainment businesses, including nightclubs and pubs, remain closed, and spectators cannot attend sporting events. A facemask requirement remains in effect for all residents, regardless of vaccination status.

Authorities will probably continue to maintain tightened security measures, such as deploying additional personnel, in Greater Seoul. Transport and business disruptions are likely to continue.
