Equatorial Guinea extends COVID-19 domestic and international restrictions until Nov. 15. Eased curfew extended in Malabo.

Event

As of Nov. 2, authorities in Equatorial Guinea are maintaining COVID-19-related measures through Nov. 15; eased COVID-19 curfew extended in Malabo until Nov. 8.

Domestic Restrictions

The nationwide curfew runs 18:00-06:00 on continental Equatorial Guinea until at least Nov. 15. Islandwide (Malabo) curfew hours have been extended until Nov. 8 but eased to 23:00-06:00 instead of 18:00-06:00.
Public transport and taxis may operate at reduced capacity. Proof of vaccination is required to access public transports.
Travel between provinces and districts within continental Equatorial Guinea may only be undertaken for essential purposes, such as work or health. Those allowed to travel will be required to show proof of vaccination. Those traveling from Malabo and Bata will need to show proof of a negative PCR test in addition to the vaccination certificate.
Interregional commercial transport between continental Equatorial Guinea and the capital island is ongoing; national airlines and maritime companies may operate at reduced capacity. Passengers will be required to present proof of vaccination and a negative PCR test.
Bars, discotheques, casinos, and other entertainment venues remain closed. Weddings, funerals, and other celebratory events are suspended if they exceed more than 20 participants.
Places of worship must adhere to strict preventative guidelines and may operate at 50 percent of their capacity.
Protective facemasks are compulsory in public places.

International Travel Restrictions
Local nationals, residents, diplomats, businesspeople, and those who have received government approval are permitted to travel to the country. Several requirements are in effect, including the following:

All passengers must provide proof of a negative PCR test taken no more than 48 hours prior to arrival as well as proof of vaccination.
Upon arrival, travelers may undertake a rapid test.
All travelers are required to quarantine for five days, regardless of COVID-19 test results.
Travelers from countries with variant strains of the disease may be prohibited from entering Equatorial Guinea until further notice.
Only essential workers or individuals with government approval may enter the country via sea and land borders.
Travelers departing the country will have to undertake a PCR test.
