Officials impose security-related curfew due to cult activities in Ikono LGA, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, effective Dec. 28.

Effective Dec. 28, authorities have imposed an indefinite 18:00-06:00 security-related curfew in the Ikono Local Government Area (LGA), Akwa Ibom State. During the curfew, all movement of persons and vehicles is prohibited. The measure aims to prevent a rising number of criminal incidents, known locally as cult-related activity.
