Emergency crews are responding to a structure fire near the intersection of Jiron Puno and Jiron Andahuaylas in downtown Lima as of late Dec. 30. There have been no immediate reports of casualties. Unconfirmed accounts suggest the affected building is a warehouse for plastic products.
Heightened security, as well as localized business and transport disruptions, are likely in the affected area.

Avoid the area until the situation stabilizes and authorities give the all-clear. Seek alternative routes to circumvent the incident site. Allow additional time to reach destinations in central Lima through at least early Dec. 31.
