Activist opposing COVID-19 measures imposed by the government plan to participate in demonstrations in Quito and Guayaquil from 16:00 Jan. 13. Protesters will gather at Parque El Arbolito in Quito and at Parque del Centenario in Guayaquil. Further protests are possible in other cities.

Police will almost certainly deploy to monitor events outside Parliament and other locations where they occur. The presence of large numbers of people and associated crowd-control measures could prompt some localized ground transport disruptions.
