Unidentified assailants launched several drones towards the Balad Airbase in Salah al-Din Governorate, early Jan. 15. Officials confirmed the incident and indicated that the drones withdrew from the site after guards opened fire. There were no casualties or damage reported.

Increased security is likely in the impact area as authorities investigate and respond to the incident. Additional attacks targeting military installations or other facilities cannot be ruled out.
