Three rockets were reportedly fired toward Karma district of Iraq's Al Anbar Governorate late Jan. 25, wounding two people. The alleged target of the attack was the residence of Mohammad al-Halbousi, who is the Speaker of the Parliament. One of the rockets notably landed near al-Halbousi's residence. No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack. Karma district is approximately 32 km (20 miles) northwest of Baghdad.
Increased security and localized transport and business disruptions are likely in the affected area in the coming hours. Further similar attacks cannot be ruled out over the coming days.
