Sweden: Authorities cancel half of all trains in Stockholm Jan. 29-30

The Swedish Transport Authority is canceling half of all train traffic through Stockholm from 14:00 Jan. 29 through 16:00 Jan. 30 due to staff shortages. Cancelations will affect long-distance, regional, commuter, and freight trains. According to officials, an unusually high number of workers are on sick leave, and they will be unable to run all trains as normal.

Increased demand for alternative means of transport, such as regional buses, taxis, or private vehicles, may result in availability shortages. Residual disruptions are possible after the service resume normal operations.

Confirm all train reservations and allow additional time for travel Jan. 29-30. Arrange alternative transport options if necessary.
